Job Description:
Velia Multiservices is partnering with an ambitious early-stage AI startup to identify a world-class Forward Deployed Engineer who thrives at the intersection of engineering, customer strategy, and AI innovation.
This is not a traditional Solutions Engineer role.
You'll work directly with Fortune 500 customers, helping them architect and deploy next-generation AI agents and enterprise search systems using cutting-edge APIs and agent infrastructure. You'll serve as both a hands-on engineer and trusted technical advisor — owning customer engagements from technical discovery through production deployment.

What You'll Do:
Own the complete technical customer lifecycle — from pre-sales discovery and proof-of-value execution to implementation and scaling in production
Partner directly with enterprise engineering teams to build AI-powered workflows, agent systems, evaluations, and integrations
Write production-quality Python code alongside customers to accelerate deployment success
Lead technical workshops, demos, evaluations, and feasibility sessions with executive stakeholders
Serve as the bridge between customer feedback and internal product/engineering teams
Help customers design and optimize their AI stack using advanced search and agent APIs
Act as a technical advisor to Fortune 500 organizations adopting AI-native infrastructure
Who We're Looking For:
2–8 years of experience in Forward Deployed Engineering, Solutions Engineering, Solutions Architecture, or highly customer-facing technical roles
Experience owning enterprise customer engagements end-to-end
Strong Python engineering skills with the ability to debug production systems and stack traces confidently
Hands-on experience with demos, POCs, technical evaluations, and enterprise implementations
Deep curiosity and practical understanding of AI, LLMs, agents, and modern AI tooling
Comfortable using tools like Claude Code, Cursor, Codex, or similar AI-assisted development environments
Exceptional communication skills with executive presence and confidence interacting with C-level stakeholders
Background from high-caliber engineering organizations is strongly preferred (Snowflake, Databricks, MongoDB, etc.)
