Key Responsibilities: - Perform routine maintenance and repairs on residential and commercial properties, including plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems - Conduct regular inspections to identify and address any potential maintenance issues - Respond to maintenance requests from tenants and clients in a timely and professional manner - Keep accurate records of all maintenance work and ensure that all necessary documentation is completed - Coordinate and oversee contractors for larger maintenance projects - Ensure that all work is completed to a high standard and in compliance with safety regulations - Maintain inventory of tools and equipment and report any necessary repairs or replacements - Communicate effectively with property managers and clients to provide updates on maintenance work and address any concerns or questions - Maintain a clean and organized work environment at all times Qualifications and Skills: - High school diploma or equivalent - Minimum of 2 years experience in maintenance or a related field - Strong knowledge of plumbing, electrical, and HVAC systems - Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and drawings - Excellent problem-solving and troubleshooting skills - Strong attention to detail and ability to prioritize tasks - Excellent communication and interpersonal skills - Ability to work independently and as part of a team - Basic computer skills and proficiency in using maintenance software Working Conditions: This is a part-time position, with a schedule of 20 hours per week. The majority of work will be performed on-site at various properties in Cape Town. Some evening and weekend work may be required, depending on maintenance requests and project deadlines.
