About the job Field Researcher | Ventures Onsite | Kenya

About the Role

We are looking for a self-driven individual to go out into the city, photograph active construction sites, and upload the photos in an organised way. This is a field-based role — most of your time will be spent driving or walking around your assigned area, not at a desk.

What You Will Do

  • Find construction sites — Use your local knowledge to identify active construction projects across your city. Focus first on areas with the most activity, then work outwards to cover everything.

  • Take the right photos — For every project, take at least 2 photos: one of the actual construction work in progress, and one of the site board (the sign at the entrance). The site board photo is the most important. Both photos must have GPS location turned on. Monthly 400 projects. Which is 800 Photos total (2 per site). 100% Geo-Tagged.

  • Record your route — Run a GPX tracking app on your phone throughout your entire trip, from start to finish. Keep the phone on and all permissions active. We will provide the app to use.

  • Sort and upload photos — Organise your photos (sort, orient, and rotate as needed) and upload them to Google Drive each day.

  • Plan independently — Create your own daily and weekly coverage plan. Prioritise areas where construction is booming, then systematically cover the rest of the city.

  • Update the tracker — Log every area you visit and the number of photos submitted in the tracker shared by your manager. Keep it up to date at all times.

  • Pay is calculated based on the number of projects submitted each month. Targets may be adjusted by management at any time.

What You Need

  • A high school diploma, undergraduate degree, or equivalent — any field is fine

  • A valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle

  • A smartphone (Android or iOS) with a working camera and GPS

  • Comfortable using Google Drive — uploading files, creating folders, and organising content

  • Able to use a mobile app to record and export a GPX route file

  • Good awareness of your city — you should know where development and construction is happening

  • Organised, reliable, and able to manage your own schedule without daily supervision
