Summary:
The Senior Researcher is responsible for the comprehensive monitoring, research, and analysis of construction projects within assigned territory in the Middle East and Africa (MEA) region. This role involves tracking projects from the early concept and design stages through to completion, ensuring the Ventures Onsite platform remains the most trusted resource for project intelligence in sectors like Oil & Gas, Buildings, and Infrastructure. As a senior-level contributor, this individual provides more nuanced insights that enable clients to make strategic business decisions.
Responsibilities:
Advanced Market Monitoring:
- Aggressively scan news sources, industry publications, and government websites to identify new project opportunities.
- Track projects across various sectors, including Buildings, Infrastructure, Oil & Gas, Industrial, and Power & Water.
- Monitor Giga Projects and other major regional developments to provide detailed insights into scope, status, and investment value.
Primary Research & Stakeholder Engagement:
- Conduct direct outreach to key project stakeholders, such as developers, contractors, government officials, and investors, to gather exclusive data.
- Develop detailed project profiles capturing critical information: scope, timelines, budgets, and key decision-makers.
- Build and maintain strong professional relationships with external industry stakeholders to facilitate ongoing data flow.
Database Management:
- Maintain and update the central project database, ensuring the highest standards of data accuracy, completeness, and accessibility.
- Implement and suggest improvements for data classification and tagging systems to enhance information retrieval for subscribers.
- Generate reports summarizing market trends, project dynamics, and competitive intelligence.
Mentorship & Quality Control:
- Support Team Leaders in reviewing the work of junior Researchers to ensure it meets organizational benchmarks.
- Assist in training new staff on research methodologies and tools specific to the construction industry.
Qualifications & Experience:
- Bachelor's degree in business, engineering, economics, or a related field.
- Minimum 3+ years of experience in market research, business intelligence, or project analysis roles.
- Exceptional attention to detail, organizational skills, and record-keeping accuracy.
- Advanced research and information gathering capabilities.
- Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to synthesize and present complex information clearly.
- Self-motivated and highly committed; proven ability to work independently.
