About the job Finance Manager - AUS
Key responsibilities of the position:
- Financial Management
- Prepare & manage monthly financial statements (including the profit & loss statement, balance sheet, cash flow statement, etc.)
- Ensure accurate & timely financial reporting & compliance with relevant accounting standards
- Oversee the preparation of budgets & forecasts, providing insights into financial performance.
- Accounts Receivable (AR) & Accounts Payable (AP)
- Manage the AR & AP processes, ensuring timely invoicing & collection of payments
- Proactively communicate with customers to facilitate timely payments & resolve any discrepancies
- Negotiate payment terms with suppliers & manage cash flow effectively.
- Customer & Supplier Relations
- Build & maintain strong relationships with customers & suppliers to ensure smooth financial transactions
- Address customer inquiries & concerns regarding billing & payment processes
- Collaborate with suppliers to ensure timely payments & resolve any issues related to accounts.
- Operational Support
- Collaborate with operational teams to ensure financial processes align with business needs
- Provide financial insights to support decision-making & strategic planning
- Assist in the development & implementation of financial policies & procedures.
- Team Leadership
- Oversee the integration & use of financial software & systems, ensuring efficiency & accuracy in financial operations
- Identify opportunities for process improvements & implement best practices in financial management.
- Required Qualifications, Experience & Skills
- Degree in Accounting, Finance, or related field (CPA or equivalent certification preferred)
- Minimum of 5 years of experience in a financial management role (ideally within the freight forwarding or logistics industry)
- Strong understanding of Australian accounting principles & financial regulations
- Proven experience in managing AR & AP processes effectively
- Excellent communication & interpersonal skills, with the ability to articulate financial concepts to non-financial stakeholders
- Proficiency in financial software & Microsoft Office Suite (experience with the Aircall phone & communications or similar system would be a plus)
- Ability to work in a fast-paced environment & manage multiple priorities.

- Required qualifications, experience & skills
- An accounting or finance degree & / or relevant qualification
- 5+ years experience working as an accountant in a company
- Excellent communication & English-speaking & written skills
- Attention to detail
- Highly self-motivated with strong engagement
- Be a team player
- Experience in working with Australian companies & Australian tax
- Experience in working with Xero.
