Network Engineer / Designer - Contract

Our client is looking for a Network Engineer/Designer who will have the responsibility to design, support, and maintain reliable network infrastructure solutions across the organisation. The role will work with technical teams and stakeholders to ensure network performance, security, and ongoing operational support. 

This is initially a 6-month assignment, with the possibility of at least one 6-month extension and will be based in the Western Suburbs of Melbourne, with hybrid working possible.

• At least Australian Permanent Residence working rights,
• At least 4 year's relevant local working experience as a Network Engineer/ Designer.

The successful candidate will need to have skills in the following:

Architecture & Design

• Leading the architecture and design of enterprise LAN, WAN, MPLS, SD-WAN, and Wi-Fi networks, from concept through to implementation.
• Acting as the SME for network endpoint connectivity and telecommunications, driving LAN/WAN/Wi-Fi transformation initiatives in collaboration with Cyber and other platform teams.
• Defining high-level and low-level network designs, including functional and non-functional requirements.
• Evaluating and comparing alternative network solutions to ensure alignment with business needs, cost, performance, security, and operability.

Delivery & Technical Leadership

• Providing technical leadership and guidance to project and delivery teams, ensuring designs are implemented accurately and consistently.
• Owning the technical delivery of network-related projects, supporting end-to-end implementation and transition into operations.
• Participating in design reviews, technical workshops, Proof of Concepts (PoCs), and solution validation activities.
• Supporting production environments where required, including participation in incident, crisis, and escalation calls.
