You are a great fit if you have:
At least two years of well-rounded, comprehensive experience as a Veterinary Assistant.
Ability to perform initial patient evaluation and triage, obtain and document basic history, reason for the visit, and presenting symptoms
Skill in obtaining body weight and temperature and assisting the veterinarian with exams using play, affection, and effective holding to make the patient's visit as stress-free as possible.
Ability to assess vital signs and independently perform charting during anesthetized procedures (heart and respiratory rate, temperature, and blood pressure).
Ability to collect necessary supplies prior to and during the patient visit, perform x-rays and imaging, and complete or assist with treatment area activities and Technician Appointments.
Ability to enter information in the Practice Management Information System, perform check-out and forward booking, and maintain the cleanliness of your assigned exam room.
A team spirit and willingness to assist fellow VAs, RVTs, and CSRs, perform supply inventories, process laundry, and work on special projects and assignments.
Ability to anticipate and respond to visual and auditory needs of patients, and lift/carry at least 40 lbs.
Ability to work independently and as part of a team, compassionately assist pet parents who are under duress, and create a positive environment for patients, pet parents, and staff.
