Payroll Tax Specialist
Position Summary
The Payroll Tax Specialist is responsible for processing and reviewing payroll taxes across multiple jurisdictions. This role ensures the accurate and timely filing of payroll tax liabilities, supports compliance with federal, state, and local regulations, and contributes to client satisfaction through effective communication and service.
Essential Functions and Responsibilities

Maintain expert knowledge of federal, state, and local statutes, regulations, and best practices relating to payroll taxes.

Accurately and timely file federal, state, and local tax liabilities.

Accurately and timely file amended federal, state, and local tax liabilities.

Review and monitor payroll records to confirm tax transactions are recorded accurately.

Audit new client setups to confirm tax and related items are configured correctly.

Generate, audit, and correct W-2s as required.

Provide clear and effective customer service communication via phone and email to support client retention.

Collaborate effectively with team members and contribute to a positive team environment.

Perform other duties as assigned.
Required Skills and Experience

23 years of experience processing and reconciling payroll taxes across multiple states and local jurisdictions.

Strong knowledge of payroll tax processes and a willingness to stay current with federal, state, and local regulations.

Ability to work in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment with high accuracy and attention to detail.

Ability to work both independently and as part of a team.

Strong verbal, written, and organizational skills.

Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs with the ability to learn additional software applications as needed.
