Assistant Planner

Job Summary:
Perform as a member of a water resources team under the direction of a Principal Engineer or Senior Planner.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with cross-disciplinary teams of engineers, scientists, planners, and project managers to understand clients water resource needs.

  • Design planning approaches to address client needs and implement planning protocols to support decision-making.

  • Coordinate work completed by other team members for studies, documents, and reports.

  • Advise clients and their consultant teams on technical, economic, environmental, and financial developments affecting water resource planning projects.

  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Ability to work independently, manage time effectively, and collaborate in a team environment.

  • Graduation from an accredited college or university in a STEM field.

  • 25 years of experience preparing studies or technical analyses on water resource-related projects.

  • Minimum 3 years experience in water resources engineering consulting, with a successful track record in planning studies.

  • Familiarity with federal risk-informed water resources planning or similar methodologies.

  • Valid California drivers license.

  • GIS experience with working knowledge.

  • Participation in an industry-related professional organization.
