Job Summary

Represents the organization in a professional manner consistent with its mission and goals. Ensures facilities are maintained and protected, provides accurate information, and assists visitors and the traveling public.

Responsibilities

  • Performs custodial duties and grounds upkeep to maintain a safe, clean, and welcoming facility.

  • Provides exceptional customer service and offers information on local businesses, attractions, activities, dining, lodging, transportation, and natural resources.

  • Maintains monthly inventories of brochures and supplies, tracks and reports visitor volume, and identifies maintenance needs.

  • Keeps current knowledge of statewide traveler information and attends required customer service training.

  • Assists visitors using brochures, computers, and other available resources.

  • Supports marketing staff by communicating the organizations marketing initiatives at frontline locations.

  • Reports weather and highway conditions to appropriate agencies as needed.

  • Summons appropriate assistance during highway or personal emergencies.

Minimum Qualifications

Education:

  • Completion of 8th grade.

Experience:

  • None required.

License/Certification:

  • None required.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Basic computer skills or the ability to learn them.

  • Familiarity with programs such as Microsoft Word, Outlook, and Internet Explorer.

Special Requirements

  1. Must be at least 18 years old at the time of application.

  2. Must be able to stand for long periods, use stairs, and lift/carry up to 50 lbs. for grounds maintenance and supply handling.

  3. Must enjoy working with the public and interacting with new people.

  4. Must work well in a team, communicate effectively, and maintain composure during stressful situations.

  5. Must become familiar with the organizations mission and initiatives.
