Job Description:
Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care and care coordination in a busy academic outpatient practice specializing in HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, and other infectious diseases. This role works within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver compassionate, comprehensive care to a vulnerable population while improving chronic disease outcomes and reducing hospital utilization.
Key Responsibilities

Deliver direct nursing care and coordinate care for assigned patients.

Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, pharmacists, and medical staff.

Provide care coordination and navigation services, including in-person and telephone triage.

Administer infusion therapy, specialty medications, and perform patient monitoring.

Conduct discharge follow-up calls and assessments.

Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, infusion therapy, and PICC line management.

Educate patients on disease management and treatment adherence.
Qualifications

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligibility under Compact state agreements.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

At least one year of nursing experience with strong outpatient clinical skills.

OPAT skills required (IV insertion, phlebotomy, infusions, PICC line management).

Current CPR certification required.

Ambulatory or outpatient care experience preferred.
