Job Description:

Job Summary
The Registered Nurse provides direct patient care and care coordination in a busy academic outpatient practice specializing in HIV/AIDS, Hepatitis, and other infectious diseases. This role works within a multi-disciplinary team to deliver compassionate, comprehensive care to a vulnerable population while improving chronic disease outcomes and reducing hospital utilization.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver direct nursing care and coordinate care for assigned patients.

  • Collaborate with physicians, advanced practice providers, social workers, pharmacists, and medical staff.

  • Provide care coordination and navigation services, including in-person and telephone triage.

  • Administer infusion therapy, specialty medications, and perform patient monitoring.

  • Conduct discharge follow-up calls and assessments.

  • Perform IV insertion, phlebotomy, infusion therapy, and PICC line management.

  • Educate patients on disease management and treatment adherence.

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligibility under Compact state agreements.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • At least one year of nursing experience with strong outpatient clinical skills.

  • OPAT skills required (IV insertion, phlebotomy, infusions, PICC line management).

  • Current CPR certification required.

  • Ambulatory or outpatient care experience preferred.
