Position Description
We are seeking an experienced Senior Structural Engineer to support the Air Force Research Laboratory (AFRL) / Integrated Experiments and Evaluation Division (RVE) in cradle-to-grave project efforts.
Responsibilities include:

Support Hardware/Software-in-the-Loop and Cloud Computing Architecture development and administration tasks.

Contribute to the development of flight experiment and space technology requirements, including:
-
Defining mission scope, design tradeoffs/alternatives, and concepts of operation
-
Addressing mission constraints, creating conceptual designs, and conducting mission analyses
-
Refining programmatic objectives into actionable requirements
-
Producing analyses and documentation for laboratory, range, ground, near-space, and space flight experiments
-
Managing requirement flow-downs, interface management, and the development of CONOPS
-
Qualifications Required:
-
5+ years of experience in aerospace structural analysis
-
Expertise in:
-
Vehicle load path definition
-
Development of free-body diagrams and strength analysis
-
Analysis of stability-critical structures
-

Proven ability in structural design, analysis, and testing of aerospace systems for flight test applications

Extensive experience with:
-
Finite Element Analysis (FEA)
-
Stress, load, thermal, vibration, and fatigue testing
-

Strong knowledge of materials used in aerospace (e.g., composites, metals, alloys) and their behavior under flight conditions
-
Understanding of systems engineering principles, particularly integration and validation of structural components
-
Active DoD Top Secret security clearance with SCI eligibility (U.S. Citizenship required)
Qualifications Desired:

Bachelors degree in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM), Information Technology, Computer Science, or a related field from a regionally accredited institution
