Job Summary
The Validation Engineer is responsible for planning, executing, and documenting test and validation activities for Electric Vehicle (EV) systems and components. This role supports functional, durability, safety, and regulatory compliance testing while working closely with cross-functional teams to ensure vehicle performance, reliability, and certification readiness.
The engineer also contributes to continuous improvement efforts, supports technical documentation standards, and assists in mentoring junior team members while maintaining high-quality validation processes.
Essential Duties

Define, execute, and manage Design Verification Plans and Reports (DVP&R) for vehicle systems and components

Plan and conduct functional, durability, thermal, vibration, NVH, environmental, and compliance testing

Coordinate validation efforts to meet regulatory and internal requirements

Develop and maintain validation documentation including test procedures and reports

Analyze test results, identify deviations, and lead root cause investigations and corrective actions

Collaborate with mechanical, electrical, and software teams to support design improvements

Manage testing activities with internal teams and external laboratories

Maintain traceable validation records aligned with program milestones

Support vehicle builds, instrumentation, and test readiness

Travel for testing and engineering support as required
Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities
Validation & Testing

Strong understanding of vehicle validation methods and test cycles

Experience with data acquisition systems, instrumentation, and sensors

Familiarity with thermal, environmental, EMC, durability, and structural testing

Knowledge of test automation tools, especially for EV systems
Standards & Compliance

Understanding of regulatory testing requirements and certification processes

Familiarity with functional safety standards is a plus
Problem-Solving & Reporting

Strong root cause analysis and corrective action skills

Ability to develop clear technical reports and presentations
Project Coordination

Effective communication with engineering, testing, and supplier teams

Ability to manage multiple test programs and deadlines
Education and Experience
Education
-
Bachelors degree in Mechanical, Electrical, Automotive Engineering, or related field

Masters degree preferred
Experience
-
5+ years of experience in validation or test engineering within automotive or EV environments

Hands-on experience with system-level or vehicle-level testing
-
Experience using MATLAB/Simulink for testing and analysis

Experience validating EV systems such as battery, eAxle, vehicle control units, and battery management systems
-
Familiarity with regulatory and cross-functional development programs
