Job Summary

The Workday HCM Director is responsible for leading HRIS strategy, configuration, and execution across a large enterprise operating under a single Workday tenant. This role ensures data integrity, system optimization, security, and efficient delivery of HR technology solutions aligned with organizational objectives.

What Youll Do

  • Manage all aspects of Workday HCM configuration, implementation, and ongoing system operations across multiple divisions

  • Partner with cross-functional teams to identify business needs and align HCM functionality with strategic priorities

  • Reduce reliance on third-party vendors by strengthening internal HRIS service delivery capabilities

  • Direct governance activities and manage system security for Workday and UKG Dimensions environments

  • Manage vendor resources to ensure timelines, quality, and system requirements are met

  • Lead annual HR technology events including open enrollment, compensation cycles, and platform updates

  • Scope, plan, and manage large-scale HRIS projects, including budgets, timelines, task flows, and deliverables

  • Ensure system security, data integrity, and compliance with internal policies and applicable regulations

  • Expand and optimize the use of Workday HCM tools to improve efficiency and functionality

  • Communicate system enhancements, project progress, and risks to executive leadership and key stakeholders

What You Need to Have

  • Bachelors degree in Information Technology, MIS, Computer Science, or a related field

  • 8+ years of IT and service delivery experience, including 5+ years of Workday HCM configuration, integrations, and maintenance

  • Proficiency with Workday tools including EIBs, XSLT, XML, XPATH, Web Services, Cloud Connect, Studio, Report Writer, and Calculated Fields

  • Experience with development technologies such as .NET or Java

  • Strong project management skills with experience managing complex initiatives within defined timelines and budgets

  • Demonstrated ability to standardize, optimize, and simplify business processes and technical solutions

  • Excellent attention to detail and strong problem-solving capabilities

  • Ability to collaborate effectively across divisions, departments, and system user groups

  • Prior experience in a Solutions Architect role is a plus
