Job Description:

Senior Planner

Job Summary:
Perform environmental planning and fieldwork, ensuring compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Conduct literature research and record searches.

  • Complete biological field surveys and prepare associated reports.

  • Monitor construction work to ensure compliance with environmental design specifications and permit conditions.

  • Assist in the development or writing of technical reports and environmental documents in compliance with NEPA, including biological resources, aquatic resources, and site stabilization/revegetation planning.

  • Collaborate with other disciplines, clients, regulatory authorities, and subconsultants through in-person and virtual meetings.

  • Prepare regulatory permit applications and assist in securing environmental permits.

  • Support general environmental planning tasks as needed.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelor of Science in Biology, Ecology, or a related field.

  • Minimum 5 years of experience in relevant fieldwork.

  • Working knowledge of federal and state environmental laws (e.g., Endangered Species Act, Clean Water Act, NEPA, NDEP).

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.

  • Ability to work independently, collaboratively, and meet critical deadlines.

  • Capability to manage multiple competing tasks simultaneously.

  • Strong organization, time management skills, and attention to detail.

  • Ability to physically perform fieldwork in various conditions, including extreme temperatures and remote locations.

  • Valid drivers license and good driving record.

  • Experience with GPS/GIS applications.

  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office.

  • Excellent analytical, writing, and communication skills.
