Job Description:
Summary
Under supervision, the College Mentor supports students in achieving academic goals by utilizing AVID and Culturally Relevant Practices strategies. Provides individual and group tutoring, assists in the preparation of instructional materials, engages in academic mentoring, and performs other related duties as assigned.
Key Responsibilities

Provide academic support through individual or group tutoring sessions.

Apply AVID and Culturally Relevant Practices strategies to enhance student success.

Assist in preparing instructional and learning materials.

Mentor students to build academic skills, confidence, and goal-setting habits.

Collaborate with staff to support student achievement.
Minimum Requirements

Must be at least 18 years of age

Currently enrolled college student with a minimum of 30 credit hours

Minimum 2.5 GPA (official transcripts required before employment)

Verbal and written communication skills in English and Spanish

Ability to read and comprehend written, graphic, and oral instructions
Preferred Qualifications

Prior tutoring and/or mentoring experience
