Job Summary
Performs advanced structural engineering and analysis tasks to support the design, development, testing, and maintenance of complex systems including mechanical, electronic, and aerospace equipment. Acts as a technical lead on complex projects, ensuring structural integrity, performance, and compliance with engineering standards.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities
- Perform structural analysis, design, and evaluation for complex engineering systems
- Lead or support engineering projects involving research, development, testing, and integration
- Develop detailed design specifications and perform engineering reviews
- Analyze engineering problems and propose solutions and improvements
- Conduct site investigations and experimental testing as required
- Coordinate with cross-functional teams including engineering, logistics, and program management
- Ensure compliance with engineering standards, documentation, and test procedures
- Prepare technical reports, studies, and documentation
- Support proposal development and provide technical input on project scope
- Interface with clients and stakeholders throughout project lifecycle
- Participate in design reviews and technical meetings as a subject matter expert
Minimum Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering (ABET-accredited)
- Typically 4+ years of relevant experience (or Master's with 2+ years)
- Strong knowledge of structural analysis and engineering principles
- Experience with engineering tools and computer-based analysis systems
- Ability to troubleshoot and solve complex engineering problems
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
- Ability to work under deadlines and manage multiple tasks
- Eligibility for security clearance may be required
