AI Data Scientist Onsite (Camp Pendleton, CA)
Contingent Position
An organization is seeking to hire an AI Data Scientist to support a defense-focused project onsite at Camp Pendleton, CA. This position supports a government contract providing Data Management and Cybersecurity services in support of Testing, Engineering, Integration, and Sustainment of Marine Corps C5ISR (Command, Control, Communications, Computers, Cyber, and Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance) systems.
WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

Conduct data integration activities.

Investigate flexible analytics solutions, including visualization, model building, operational decision-making, and decision capture.

Support the secure and rapid building, training, evaluation, debugging, and deployment of AI models across real-world and theoretical scenarios.

Identify portable solutions capable of supporting distributed, vehicle-mounted, and on-premises use cases.
WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

Ability to apply Data Scientist expertise through technology processes, methodologies, standards, or frameworks.

Experience applying data science tools and developing methodologies in an integrated test or garrison environment.

Proficiency in statistical programming languages such as R, Python, SQL, etc., for manipulating large data sets and deriving insights.

Experience with programming languages such as C, C++, Java, JavaScript, etc.

Experience with data architecture design and development.

Experience using AI/ML techniques, including large language models, clustering, decision trees, artificial neural networks, etc.

Experience applying advanced statistical techniques (e.g., regression, distributions, statistical tests).

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

Bachelors degree in Data Science, Computer Science, Statistics, Mathematics, Computer Engineering, or a related field.

Knowledge and experience in statistical and data mining techniques.

3+ years of experience with distributed data and computing tools.

3+ years of experience creating and using advanced machine learning algorithms and statistical models (e.g., regression, simulation, clustering, neural networks).

Experience visualizing and presenting data for technical and non-technical stakeholders.
