Systems Baggage Operator

Job Description

Under the general direction of the Systems Baggage Operations Supervisor, the Systems Baggage Operator is responsible for maintaining the efficiency of the airport baggage system by ensuring it remains free of blockages and functions properly. Key responsibilities include:

• Clearing baggage jams in accordance with safety protocols

• Performing inspections for missing or misplaced baggage

• Troubleshooting and resolving issues within the baggage handling system

• Implementing and adhering to safety standards

• Driving golf carts on the airport ramp as needed

• Assisting skilled trades personnel, including electricians, plumbers, and HVAC mechanics, to support a collaborative maintenance environment

Requirements

• Ability to follow established safety procedures and baggage handling protocols

• Experience or familiarity with baggage or conveyor systems is a plus

• Strong attention to detail when inspecting and identifying system issues

• Willingness to work in a physically active role, often in varying environmental conditions

• Ability to work collaboratively with skilled trades and maintenance teams

• Valid drivers license and ability to operate golf carts or similar vehicles on the ramp

• Flexibility to work shifts, weekends, and holidays as required in a 24/7 operational environment
