This position is responsible for the day-to-day shift manufacturing operations. Incumbent will have responsibility to achieve productivity, efficiency, customer service, cost, quality, safety, morale, methodical problem solving, and overall equipment efficiency (OEE) objectives through both individual and team contributions. Provides direction, leadership, development, and support to assigned team through empowerment, teamwork, on-the-job assignments, and continuous improvement initiatives. The schedule for this position is a night shift schedule rotating, including every other weekend.

Main aspects of the role include:
Create and maintain a safe, productive, and respectful work environment for all; ensure employees adhere to safety and quality practices, respectful workplace communication, and company policies.
Lead and supervise employees, including staffing and recruiting, training, and performance management; establish and communicate clear performance expectations through coaching, direction, and open communication.
Coordinate all production activities and schedule team members to maximize performance and meet business needs; managing pass-downs, changeovers, downtime, employee overtime, planned and unplanned absences, and temporary labor.
Conduct team meetings and otherwise effectively communicate work activities, initiatives, policy changes, company communications, etc.
Provide instruction to employees on how to perform tasks more efficiently or safely. Provide performance feedback and coaching to team members, including progressive discipline or individual development plans.
Partner with site leaders or other departments (Safety, HR, Quality, etc.) to manage policies and meet company goals; ensure effective communication and collaboration. Facilitate effective sharing of information across work teams, business areas, and functional areas.
Manage raw material, finished good, and packaging supply inventories to ensure production schedules are met. Partner with both internal, external, and customer resources to support production while managing costs and deadlines.
Create an optimal production schedule with input from vendors and sister facilities, taking into account cleaning requirements, customer needs, and inventories.
Understand core mechanical technologies, including fasteners, lubrication, drives, transmission systems, motion systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and electrical/controls.

The ideal candidate will have a Bachelor’s degree in Business, Engineering, Industrial Technology, or Management with at least two years of leadership experience. Manufacturing experience in food processing or life sciences is preferred, along with lean manufacturing expertise or a green/black belt in Lean Six Sigma. A strong understanding of FDA, USDA, and HACCP regulations is essential. Proficiency in Microsoft Office is required, with experience in Microsoft NAV, Redzone, and/or Alchemy preferred. The candidate must demonstrate leadership, people development, and strategic decision-making skills while effectively communicating at all levels. This role requires the ability to lead, motivate, and hold teams accountable while maintaining trust and credibility. Availability to work various shifts, including nights, weekends, and overtime, is necessary.
