About the job WAREHOUSE CLERK
The Warehouse Clerk supports the efficient operation of the warehouse by managing the flow of work to the selection team. This includes preparing and mapping orders/trucks, supplying work to the team in a timely manner, completing and invoicing all loads, handling inventory issues with the advice of the management team, and preparing driver dispatch bags with invoices and all needed information for successful deliveries. Previous experience with AS400, Manhattan, or Power Warehouse systems is required to perform essential duties effectively.
Key Responsibilities:
Load Mapping and Optimization:
Develop and execute load maps to ensure efficient truck loading based on delivery schedules and routes.
Coordinate with the logistics and transportation teams to ensure load maps align with delivery priorities, equipment, and timelines.
Invoice loads upon completion of selection.
Review inventory levels and sub-items as required.
Invoicing:
Use warehouse management software, including AS400, Manhattan, or Power Warehouse systems, to track inventory levels and product locations.
Reconcile discrepancies.
Food Safety and Compliance:
Adhere to all food safety and hygiene standards, including proper handling, storage, and cleaning procedures.
Assist with maintaining compliance with HACCP (Hazard Analysis and Critical Control Points) and other regulatory requirements.
Documentation and Communication:
Maintain accurate records of shipments, inventory transactions, load maps, and returns using Power Warehouse systems.
Collaborate with the logistics and transportation teams to resolve issues with deliveries, inventory, or load configurations.
Communicate effectively with team members and supervisors to ensure smooth operations.
Qualifications and Skills:
Education and Experience:
High school diploma or equivalent (required).
Previous experience in a warehouse environment, especially in food distribution (required).
Experience with AS400, Manhattan, or Power Warehouse systems (required).
Skills and Abilities:
Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
Must be self-motivated.
Ability to lift and move heavy items (up to 50 lbs) and work in cold storage environments.
Proficiency with inventory management systems and load-mapping tools.
Excellent communication and problem-solving skills.
Certifications:
Food safety or HACCP certification (preferred).
Work Environment:
Work in a warehouse setting, including refrigerated and frozen storage areas with varying temperatures.
May require standing, bending, and lifting for extended periods.
Adherence to strict food safety and hygiene protocols is required.
