About the job MBSE Modeler

MBSE Modeler Onsite (Huntsville, AL)

An organization is seeking an MBSE (Model-Based Systems Engineering) Modeler to support the Command, Control, Battle Management and Communications (C2BMC) program. This is an onsite role in Huntsville, AL.

The C2BMC program integrates the Missile Defense System and enables the U.S. president, secretary of defense, and combatant commanders at strategic, regional, and operational levels to plan and manage ballistic missile defense operations. It allows commanders to see the battle collectively and dynamically manage designated networked sensors and weapons systems to achieve global and regional mission objectives. The program also plays a crucial role in system ground and flight tests, verifying and exercising current and future missile defense system capabilities.

The selected candidate will be responsible for constructing and translating paper architecture products into digital models, delivering model artifacts, and collaborating with internal C2BMC and external MDA stakeholders within an MBSE modeling environment to ensure accurate system representations and behaviors. Work will be performed under the supervision of the Digital Engineering Team (DET) Lead and DET Architecture Model Lead.

WHAT YOU CAN EXPECT TO DO:

  • Support the development of architecture models.

  • Perform model configuration management.

  • Act as a focal point for integration with other modeling teams/environments external to C2BMC (e.g., models developed by other missile defense partner organizations).

  • Mentor junior systems engineering team members to enhance departmental skills.

  • Interface with other technical leads, product owners, program management, and government customers to ensure high-quality, timely product delivery.

  • Review the content and details of technical products.

  • Act as a technical interface to MDA working-level counterparts, as required.

  • Be actively involved in Agile development efforts, including iteration planning and status updates.

WHAT THE TEAM REQUIRES:

  • Current/active in-scope DoD issued SECRET security clearance.

  • 5 years of related experience with a Bachelors Degree in a STEM (Science, Technology, Engineering or Mathematics) discipline,
OR a Masters degree and 3 years of experience,
OR a PhD and 1 year of experience,
OR 9 years of related experience in lieu of a degree may be considered.

  • Minimum of 4 years' experience building digital architecture models.

  • Experience developing model artifacts consistent with SysMOD and OOSEM methodologies.

  • Experience developing models using the DoD Architecture Framework (DoDAF 2.0) within the CAMEO development environment.

  • Working knowledge of Dynamic Object Oriented Requirements System (DOORS) and experience linking requirements to architecture models.

  • Ability to deliver data products from a modeling platform using tools such as Collaborator, VTL scripts, Webify, Tom Sawyer, or similar.

  • Demonstrated knowledge of product development in a secure environment, following Security Classification Guidelines (SCG).

  • Experience building and modifying all viewpoints within the DoDAF 2.0 modeling framework.

WHAT THE TEAM PREFERS:

  • A Masters degree in Systems Engineering and 3 years of experience (preferred).

  • INCOSE Certified Systems Engineering Professional (CSEP) certification.

  • Object Management Group Certified Systems Modeling Professional Model Builder Fundamental (OCSMP MBF) certification.

  • Experience with custom plug-ins and other modeling tool customizations.

  • Experience integrating DOORS and CAMEO through TWC DataHub.

  • Strong understanding of general systems engineering practices and tools, including Agile methodologies using Atlassian JIRA, Confluence, and SharePoint.
