About the Director, Enterprise Cloud Technology:

The Director of Enterprise Cloud Technology is a strategic leadership position integral to the organizations information technology success and cloud security. The role requires hands-on expertise in AWS cloud technologies, secure cloud configurations, and technical compliance controls. The ideal candidate will lead by example, embracing a culture of innovation, risk-awareness, security first, continuous professional development, and customer-centric technology delivery.

The successful candidate will be committed to core values of innovation, proactive risk management, and continuous learning. They must demonstrate a strong ability to collaborate across teams in this Dev-Sec-Ops role, effectively managing change and fostering a culture that values technical and professional growth. This role reports to the CISO and SVP of Information Systems.

This position is eligible for remote work, but quarterly travel will be required to the corporate office.

Essential Functions and Responsibilities:

• Act as the organizations cloud technology and Dev-Sec-Ops thought leader and strategic evangelist, actively analyzing market and industry trends to shape and refine a secure cloud strategy and implementation.

• Lead and develop a high-performing team of cloud engineers and core systems admins, fostering a culture of continuous professional growth and secure operational excellence.

• Create and maintain cloud architectures and security guardrails that address current business needs, anticipate future challenges, and enable enterprise-grade security in the cloud.

• Continuously scan the external environment for emerging cloud technologies and industry best practices, promoting their effective adoption.

• Challenge established practices, championing innovative cloud solutions and digital transformation initiatives.

• Drive the adoption of modern cloud services, methodologies, and DevOps practices, serving as an influential change agent.

• Lead strategic initiatives that span multiple technical and business domains, ensuring alignment with enterprise objectives.

• Clearly and effectively communicate with senior leadership, compliance, and board-level stakeholders to report on strategic initiatives, operational performance, and risk management posture.

Minimum Qualifications:

• Bachelors degree with 12+ years relevant experience; or an advanced degree with 10+ years relevant experience; without a degree, 16+ years of directly relevant experience required.

• Minimum of 5 years in a senior technology leadership role.

• Demonstrated experience (5+ years) with cloud architecture, cloud operations, and cloud security risk management, specifically with AWS.

• Professional certifications such as AWS Certified Solutions Architect or similar credentials.

• Proven experience navigating regulatory compliance landscapes (e.g., HIPAA, HITRUST, PCI, SOX).

• Executive presence and proven ability to engage effectively at the management level.

Preferred Qualifications:

• Broad technical expertise, including knowledge of cloud APIs, server less architectures, Zero Trust security environments, and modern cloud security frameworks.

• Familiarity with Agile development and DevOps practices.

• Previous experience in technical or customer support roles is beneficial but not required.

• Experience working in fast-paced growth companies is helpful.
