Job Title: Registered Nurse Medical-Surgical
Job Summary
The Medical-Surgical unit specializes in managing patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary illnesses, and infectious diseases. The Registered Nurse provides independent patient care, acts as a clinical resource, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality outcomes.
Key Responsibilities

Provide independent nursing care to unit-specific patient populations.

Serve as clinical resource and mentor to colleagues.

Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate patient/family care needs.

Participate in team development, evaluation, and implementation of the Relationship-Based Care model.

Contribute to data collection and improvement efforts related to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI).

Ensure safe and effective clinical practice, including participation in specialized unit roles (e.g., arrest team, triage).
Qualifications

Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligibility under Compact state agreements.

Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

One year of medical-surgical nursing experience required.

Strong knowledge base and proven clinical skills.

Current CPR certification required.

Completion of all mandatory training and classes.

Maintenance of at least 10 contact hours of continuing education every two years.
