Job Title: Registered Nurse Medical-Surgical

Job Summary
The Medical-Surgical unit specializes in managing patients with chronic conditions such as diabetes, hypertension, pulmonary illnesses, and infectious diseases. The Registered Nurse provides independent patient care, acts as a clinical resource, and collaborates with the interdisciplinary team to ensure quality outcomes.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide independent nursing care to unit-specific patient populations.

  • Serve as clinical resource and mentor to colleagues.

  • Collaborate with the interdisciplinary team to plan and coordinate patient/family care needs.

  • Participate in team development, evaluation, and implementation of the Relationship-Based Care model.

  • Contribute to data collection and improvement efforts related to Nursing Sensitive Quality Indicators (NSQI).

  • Ensure safe and effective clinical practice, including participation in specialized unit roles (e.g., arrest team, triage).

Qualifications

  • Licensure as a Registered Nurse in the state of Maryland, or eligibility under Compact state agreements.

  • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.

  • One year of medical-surgical nursing experience required.

  • Strong knowledge base and proven clinical skills.

  • Current CPR certification required.

  • Completion of all mandatory training and classes.

  • Maintenance of at least 10 contact hours of continuing education every two years.
