Job Description:
Job Summary
We are seeking a Modeling and Simulation Subject Matter Expert (SME) to support advanced navigation warfare (NAVWAR) missions focused on ensuring positioning, navigation, and timing (PNT) superiority. This role provides executive-level technical insight and hands-on engineering support for developing, analyzing, and testing innovative RF, electronic warfare (EW), and signal processing solutions in support of complex defense missions.
The ideal candidate will contribute to research, development, modeling, simulation, and system integration efforts across airborne and distributed sensing environments, supporting both friendly force protection and threat mitigation initiatives.
Responsibilities
-
Provide executive-level technical insight and subject matter expertise for NAVWAR engineering initiatives.
-
Conduct research and development of multi-function, small form-factor payloads supporting NAVWAR missions.
-
Develop, model, and analyze novel algorithmic concepts to enable distributed electronic sensing effects.
-
Apply EW signal processing algorithms for threat detection, identification, and countermeasure employment.
-
Design systems supporting GPS and PNT hardening to mitigate denial and deception effects.
-
Develop RF hardware and software solutions integrating EW, communications, and radar capabilities into compact payloads.
-
Investigate heterogeneous sensing concepts across manned, unmanned, airborne, and ISR platforms, including passive sensing approaches.
-
Design, implement, and execute testing of RF and SDR-based systems, including hardware components.
-
Reverse engineer existing signal processing solutions to enhance system performance.
-
Synthesize, allocate, and derive system requirements to ensure architectures are complete, compliant, and mission-aligned.
-
Support development and implementation of RF solution requirements, including services, products, and airborne mission technologies.
-
Perform Hardware-in-the-Loop (HWIL) testing on systems impacted by PNT/GPS denial or deception.
-
Support technical reviews of vendor hardware, software, interfaces, algorithms, and simulation models.
-
Research and evaluate state-of-the-art signal processing algorithms and emerging technologies.
-
Collaborate with internal and external stakeholders to integrate solutions across diverse mission applications.
-
Debug, test, and validate capabilities using unit testing and operational scenario analysis.
Qualifications
Required
-
3–10 years of relevant experience in modeling, simulation, RF, EW, or related engineering disciplines.
-
Prior leadership or management experience in higher-level technical roles.
-
Bachelors degree in Engineering or a related technical discipline.
-
Active Interim Secret clearance with a pathway to SCI eligibility.
Desired
-
Masters degree in Engineering or a related field.
-
Professional Engineer (PE) license (preferred for senior-level candidates).
