General Summary

The incumbent will oversee an IS&T Technical Applications team. This role is responsible for creating technology strategy, roadmaps, and solutions for IT-centric platforms as well as end-user focused solutions. The manager will play a lead role in blending emerging technology trends and shifting end-user requirements into scalable, supportable, and cost-effective solutions.

This position is accountable for budgeting, programming, project execution, and evaluation of all related departmental activities. Responsibilities include integrating new technologies, ensuring competitive infrastructure, and supporting the broader mission of the health system.

Principal Responsibilities and Tasks

Accountability

  • Reports to senior IT leadership.

  • Responsible for delivering a high degree of customer satisfaction.

  • Serves as a leadership role within Corporate IT.

Primary Duties and Responsibilities

  • Lead and oversee departmental functions including development, enhancement, implementation, and management of IT applications.

  • Supervise the development, implementation, administration, and modifications of processes to ensure efficient operations.

  • Lead multi-disciplinary teams of end users, IT staff, and third-party resources to create and implement technology solutions.

  • Discover, evaluate, and prioritize emerging technology projects that align with organizational goals.

  • Manage and continuously update strategic technology roadmaps.

  • Monitor IT industry trends and serve as the lead for emerging technologies.

  • Ensure proposed solutions adhere to architectural standards and can be supported by operations and support teams.

  • Establish strategic direction for the department and set short-, medium-, and long-term goals in collaboration with senior leadership.

  • Directly supervise IS&T technical staff, including hiring, training, performance management, and team development.

  • Establish performance and productivity standards; determine staffing needs with senior leadership.

  • Maintain strong internal and external communications; provide leadership updates on significant activities, needs, and challenges.

  • Ensure systems meet regulatory and security requirements, coordinating extensively with security teams.

Qualifications

Education and Experience

  • Bachelors degree required.

  • Minimum 7 years of management experience in IT operations.

  • Minimum 7 years of management experience in IT architecture.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

  • Strong verbal, written, and interpersonal communication skills.

  • Proficiency in managing services within various IT infrastructure programs.

  • Experience working in diverse and complex environments.

  • Proven leadership, management, and motivational skills.

  • Ability to lead, control, and manage projects effectively.
