Job Summary
This position is responsible for assessing, prescribing, delegating, coordinating, and evaluating nursing care to ensure high-quality services are delivered in alignment with established standards, policies, and procedures. The role supports patient-centered care across a variety of clinical situations, with additional department-specific responsibilities as applicable.
Responsibilities
Essential Job Functions:

Patient Assessment: Conduct comprehensive assessments, including vital signs, medical history, and presenting symptoms.

Triage: Prioritize patients based on severity to ensure timely care for critical cases.

Emergency Care: Administer medications, IV fluids, treatments, and perform emergency procedures such as wound care and splinting.

Monitoring: Track vital signs and evaluate patient responses, adjusting care plans as needed.

Collaboration: Partner with physicians, nurse practitioners, and interdisciplinary team members to support patient care.

Documentation: Maintain accurate medical records and treatment documentation in electronic or paper formats.

Patient Education: Provide clear information on diagnoses, procedures, and follow-up instructions.

Emergency Response: Participate in rapid response, code blue events, and other urgent interventions.

Patient Advocacy: Safeguard patient rights, dignity, and preferences throughout the care process.

Infection Control: Adhere to all protocols to minimize infection risks for patients and staff.

Quality Improvement: Contribute to care evaluation efforts and process improvements to enhance patient outcomes.

General Duties: Support organizational mission, comply with required training programs, and perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education:

Required: Graduate of an accredited school of professional nursing with ongoing education appropriate to role and practice area.

Preferred: Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN).
Experience:

Required: None.

Preferred: Prior clinical experience.
Licenses & Certifications:

Current RN license.

Required Certifications: ACLS, BLS, PALS, TNCC.

Additional specialty-specific certifications may be preferred depending on department.
Equipment/Tools:
Experience with infusion pumps and other clinical equipment, computer systems, and standard documentation tools.
Skills:
Ability to provide age-appropriate, culturally sensitive, physical, and psychosocial care tailored to patient needs.
