Job Description:
Responsibilities:

Assists in directive, policy, and procedure development, revisions, and additions.

Establishes, organizes, and assists in the collection of documentation for all accreditation files.

Maintains accredited status with various accrediting bodies.

Composes correspondence including e-mails, letters, and reports.

Manages accreditation issues such as contract approval, payment of fees, scheduling Mock and On-Site Assessments, and monitoring standard changes and interpretations.

Notifies unit commanders and supervisors of the status and requirements for current compliance.

Assists with preparing and submitting annual reports to CFA and FCAC.
-
Ensures departmental written directives comply with accreditation standards.

Ensures compliance with revisions from the Commission on Florida Law Enforcement Accreditation (CFA), Florida Corrections Accreditation Commission (FCAC), and Florida Telecommunications Accreditation Commission (TAC).

May be required to attend FLA-PAC and Commission meetings and conferences.

Conducts random, unannounced inspections of agency units and facilities to assess compliance with standards, procedures, and regulations.

Reviews complex and technical issues related to law enforcement, detention, and communications standards.

Serves as liaison to CFA, FCAC, and TAC for accreditation matters and status changes.

Stays current on all aspects of the accreditation process, including proposed changes or amendments, and assesses their impact on agency policies and procedures.

Provides accreditation training for agency employees.

Drafts new written directives or assigns writing projects to subject matter experts to meet accreditation objectives.

Maintains master and archive files for agency written directives.

Maintains standards files for primary and secondary compliance.
-
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Minimum Requirements:

Bachelors degree in Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field AND three (3) years of professional experience; OR
-
Associates degree in Criminal Justice, Human Resources, Business Administration, or related field AND five (5) years of professional experience in Public or Government Administration; OR

At least seven (7) years of professional experience in Accreditation, Public, or Government Administration; AND
-
Must have a valid Florida Drivers License.

Prior experience as an Accreditation Specialist or Clerk is preferred.
