Job Description:

Senior Engineer

Job Summary:
Manage engineering projects and staff while leading multidisciplinary teams and ensuring quality, efficiency, and compliance throughout the project lifecycle.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Prepare engineering analyses, designs, and calculations for private improvements and public works projects.

  • Develop construction plans, review submittals, process Requests for Information (RFI), prepare specifications, and create cost estimates (PS&E).

  • Review development plans for compliance with adopted engineering standards and practices.

  • Manage project resources efficiently and address delays or obstacles during the project lifecycle.

  • Lead multidisciplinary teams of engineers, contractors, and other professionals.

  • Supervise technical support staff as needed and assist in managing budget and workload; eventual responsibility for budget management and invoicing is a plus.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Bachelors degree in Civil Engineering.

  • Minimum 8 years of relevant experience performing essential engineering duties.

  • Strong knowledge of Civil Engineering principles, practices, and methods.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD, including Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.

  • Professional Engineer (P.E.) license in California required.

  • Ability to gather, organize, and analyze engineering data and prepare comprehensive reports.

  • Efficient management of multiple engineering functions.

  • Ability to work effectively as a member of an engineering team.

  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, both written and verbal.
