EMI Technician

Position Description

A hands-on EMI technician is needed for lab-level design, integration, and test for avionic and hybrid vehicle Electro Magnetic Interference (EMI) test suites. The candidate will perform electrical design, layout, fabrication, integration, and test/checkout activities. They will be expected to document and use configuration management systems to store designs of complex test systems. Knowledge of circuit design, electrical engineering concepts and terminology, and the ability to follow established project management processes is required.

Additional responsibilities include generating scripts to execute the EMI test requirements with programs such as TILE! and LabVIEW. Integration includes working with systems and software engineers to debug the test stand down to the component level and requires the ability to read, understand, and write software test procedures written in high-level script languages. Procedures and drawings are stored in a documentation system. Throughout the cycle, the position will utilize industry best practice systems engineering and development processes and will consider both the business and the technical needs of the end user, with the goal of providing a quality product that satisfies those needs.

Qualifications Required:

• 57 years of experience OR bachelor's degree or equivalent and 2 years of experience

• Experience with electrical test systems in a lab environment

• Ability to read and interpret electrical schematics

• Experience with assembly and fabrication of small-scale test systems

• Excellent interpersonal skills, including working in team environments

• Proficient with Microsoft Office tools

• Excellent verbal communication skills must be able to communicate effectively in teleconferences with suppliers, clients, and colleagues

• Must be a U.S. Citizen

Qualifications Desired:

• Experience using MIL-STD-461 and/or DO-160 for EMI testing

• Experience with EMI TILE! software

• Configuration management experience including Windchill
