About the job Senior Graphic Designer

Senior Graphic Designer

Vida Plena is an innovative hospitality group founded in Lisbon in 2018, dedicated to making our guests and team feel truly at home. We pride ourselves on delivering warm, blissful experiences, fostering a diverse and inclusive atmosphere, serving top-quality fresh food, and providing exceptional service.

🌟 The Role

We run 13 brands across Lisbon and beyond, each with its own character, audience, and visual world. Design sits at the heart of everything we do — it's what makes our places feel like places people actually want to be.

We're looking for a Senior Graphic Designer to join us in-house and own the visual side of the group. You'll work across all our brands — keeping each one sharp and consistent, and helping shape new ones as they come. The day-to-day moves fast and shifts a lot: refreshing a menu in the morning, building out a new bar's identity in the afternoon, wrapping the week on a merch drop or a signage system. If that kind of variety energises you, you'll feel right at home here.

🗒️ Your Key Responsibilities

  • Look after brand assets across our 13 brands (and counting) — from logo systems and typography to colour, photography direction, and the overall visual feel of each one
  • Consolidate and refresh existing brands, bringing them to a more coherent, current place without losing what makes each one its own thing
  • Help create new brands from scratch, working alongside the founders and the wider team from early concept through to launch
  • Design across all the collateral we use day to day: menus, posters, signage, packaging, uniforms and merch, print campaigns, social assets, decks, digital ads, email, and the occasional landing page
  • Bring AI tools into your workflow — for moodboarding, ideation, asset generation, retouching, or speeding up production
  • Keep brand guidelines and our asset library in good shape so the rest of the team can move quickly without things drifting
  • Brief and work with external collaborators (illustrators, photographers, printers, occasional agency support) when a project needs extra hands

🔧 What We Expect From You

  • 5+ years of professional design experience — hospitality is great, but so is retail, fashion, music, editorial, or any consumer-facing world where design has had to do real work
  • A timeless aesthetic that still feels current — you appreciate restraint, care about typography, and know the difference between something fresh and something just on-trend
  • Sharp attention to detail: kerning, alignment, paper choice, the right shade of off-white — these things matter to you
  • Curious by nature — you look around, read, notice things, and bring references the rest of us might not have found yet
  • Comfortable across print and digital, from a carefully set menu to an Instagram carousel to a pop-up's signage system
  • Already using AI tools in your process, or genuinely excited to — we don't expect expertise, just openness
  • Fluent in English; Portuguese is a plus but not required
  • Nice to have: some experience in digital UX/UI — if you've shipped a website or app interface you're proud of, we'd love to see it

🚀 What's In For You?

  • A generous welcome at our venues — enjoy special discounts
  • A bright, two-floor office in Cais do Sodré — with a big terrace and river view
  • A private chef in the office and monthly budget to use it the best way
  • Hybrid work model — a balance between office and home
  • Up to 3 weeks/year working from abroad — log in from wherever inspires you
  • Vida Plena Activities, every week — yoga, surf, kart racing, and more
  • We care about wellness — Spin classes for the body, and Mindpartner access for the mind
  • A real budget for the tools, fonts, courses, and references that help you do great work
  • Care Days — time off besides holidays
  • Flexibility on contract — open to full-time in-house or freelance/retainer for the right person

You'll have the chance to work across a wide range of brands in one of the city's fastest-growing hospitality scenes, with real ownership of your work: what you design ends up in people's hands, on walls, on plates, and in the places they spend their evenings. Decisions happen quickly in our small, close-knit team, and your point of view actually shapes the outcome. If you're ready to bring your expertise, passion, and innovation, we're excited to welcome you into our fold.

📬 How to Apply

Send us your portfolio and a short note about a piece of brand work you're particularly proud of, and why. If you've been using AI in your process, we'd love to see how. Cover letters are welcome but not necessary — we'll be looking at the work first.
