BigQuery Data Engineer (Contract)

We’re building out a centralized data warehouse in Google BigQuery to track client success, revenue, and marketing performance across multiple platforms.

We’re looking for a contract Data Engineer to help us set up and connect our core data pipelines into BigQuery. This role is project-based with the potential for ongoing, light-touch maintenance.

What You’ll Do

• Design and implement a BigQuery schema for client lifecycle, funnel, payments, renewals, and results.

• Connect multiple data sources (CRMs, ad platforms, custom apps) into BigQuery.
• Build ETL pipelines (API integrations, dbt transformations, or cloud functions).
• Implement best practices in partitioning, clustering, and cost optimization.
• Deliver clean, documented tables ready for BI tools (we use ThoughtSpot).
• Provide documentation and training so the team can self-serve reporting.

What We’re Looking For

• Proven experience with Google BigQuery (schema design, performance tuning, cost optimization).
• Strong skills in data pipeline development (Airbyte, Fivetran, dbt, or custom API integrations).
• Experience with Google Cloud Platform (Cloud Functions, Cloud Storage, IAM).
• Ability to translate business requirements into efficient data models.
• Strong communication + documentation skills.

Nice to Have

• Background working with CRMs (HighLevel, SmartMatchApp, or similar).

• Exposure to BI tools (e.g., ThoughtSpot, Looker, Tableau)
