Position: Project Commercial Engineer

Type of Hiring: Contract

Working Location: Chonburi

Responsibilities

  • Manage the full subcontracting and procurement process, including Expression of Interest (EOI), Request for Quotation (RFQ), technical and commercial evaluations, negotiations, clarifications, and contract award.
  • Review and verify subcontractor monthly progress reports, invoices, and supporting documentation to ensure compliance with contractual requirements and payment procedures.
  • Monitor subcontractor performance to ensure adherence to agreed commercial terms, project scope, schedule, quality standards, and budget requirements.
  • Administer subcontract agreements throughout the project lifecycle, from contract award through closeout.
  • Manage and coordinate change order processes, including evaluation, documentation, approval, and implementation.
  • Identify, assess, and mitigate commercial, financial, and contractual risks associated with subcontractor activities and expenditures.
  • Track and control subcontract costs to ensure alignment with approved project budgets and cost targets.
  • Facilitate commercial meetings with subcontractors to address contractual, commercial, and performance-related matters.
  • Support commercial management activities and provide coordination across project stakeholders as required.
  • Maintain accurate commercial records, contract documentation, and progress reporting.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
  • 3+years of experience in commercial, contract administration, subcontract management, quantity surveying, project controls, or related functions.
  • Experience in EPC, oil & gas, construction, engineering, or industrial projects is highly preferred.
  • Strong understanding of contract administration, commercial management, and subcontracting practices.
  • Knowledge of change management, progress measurement, cost control, and payment verification processes.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with a commercial mindset.
  • Good command of both written and spoken English.
  • Excellent communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail.
  • Proactive, well-organized, and capable of managing multiple priorities in a fast-paced project environment.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Excel and reporting tools.
