Position: Procurement & Inventory Assistant
Position Summary
The Procurement & Inventory Assistant is responsible for supporting procurement activities and inventory management to ensure the timely availability of materials, equipment, and services required for business operations. The role involves supplier coordination, purchasing, inventory control, logistics support, and maintaining accurate inventory records while ensuring compliance with company policies and procedures.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement
- Source, evaluate, and select suppliers based on pricing, quality, service, reliability, and delivery performance.
- Prepare, issue, and process purchase orders in accordance with company procurement policies and procedures.
- Negotiate pricing, commercial terms, contracts, and delivery schedules with suppliers.
- Monitor supplier performance and resolve issues related to delivery, quality, pricing, or service.
- Coordinate with internal departments to ensure procurement activities meet operational requirements.
- Maintain accurate procurement records and documentation.
Inventory Management
- Monitor inventory levels and identify optimal stock levels to support operational requirements.
- Forecast future inventory requirements and coordinate replenishment activities.
- Ensure inventory transactions are accurately recorded in both physical and financial systems.
- Coordinate inventory counting, equipment and material tracking, and inventory audit activities.
- Monitor the movement of equipment and materials between warehouses and field locations.
- Ensure used inventory and returned materials are properly managed and accounted for.
Logistics & Operational Support
- Arrange transportation and logistics for equipment and materials to support field operations.
- Coordinate with vendors, logistics providers, and internal stakeholders to ensure timely delivery.
- Support continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement and inventory efficiency.
- Ensure compliance with company policies, safety standards, and applicable regulations.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Science, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, Logistics, or a related field.
- 2–3 years of experience in procurement, purchasing, buyer, inventory control, or supply chain management.
- Experience in the Oil & Gas industry is an advantage.
- Good understanding of procurement processes, inventory management, and supply chain operations.
- Strong negotiation, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Good analytical and problem-solving abilities with attention to detail.
- Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; experience with ERP or inventory management systems is an advantage.
- Able to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines.
- Willingness to travel to support operational and field activities when required.
