Structural Engineer – 5-Month Contract

Location: Laem Chabang Industrial Estate, Chonburi
Employment Type: 5-Month Contract
Working Hours: Monday–Friday 07:30–17:00 and Saturday 07:30–12:00 (5.5 days/week)

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to provide engineering and technical support for structural, piping, and mechanical fabrication activities.

The successful candidate will be responsible for structural engineering calculations, heavy lifting studies, temporary works design, construction procedures, material quantity estimation, and load-out engineering support. The role will work closely with construction, fabrication, installation, and engineering teams to ensure that activities are carried out safely and in accordance with project requirements.

Key Responsibilities

• Provide engineering and technical support to the shop floor for structural, piping, mechanical fabrication, and related construction activities.
• Prepare Lift Analysis / Lift Studies using structural analysis and design software for activities such as deck lifting and jacket roll-up.
• Prepare and maintain Platform Weight Control Reports to support fabrication and load-out activities.
• Develop detailed Construction Procedures for structural fabrication and load-out activities.
• Perform structural design calculations and prepare designs based on fabrication requirements, including both permanent and temporary structures.
• Prepare Structural Material BOQs (Bill of Quantities).
• Coordinate with relevant engineering and construction disciplines to resolve technical issues and ensure smooth execution of fabrication and installation activities.

Construction Engineering Support

• Prepare Construction Procedures / Method Statements for fabrication and construction activities.
• Perform Temporary Works Design and engineering calculations as required.
• Conduct Lift Studies and provide technical recommendations for heavy lifting operations.
• Prepare BOQs and material quantity estimates for structural works.
• Provide engineering clarification and technical support to fabrication and construction teams.

Installation Coordination

• Prepare and review Load-Out Procedures for structural and offshore construction activities.
• Coordinate Seafastening Design with relevant engineering and installation teams.
• Support load-out and installation planning by providing structural engineering input and technical documentation.
• Coordinate with construction, marine, fabrication, and installation teams to ensure engineering requirements are properly addressed.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 3 years of direct experience in Heavy Lifting Study / Design.
• Good command of English, both written and spoken.
• Proficient in structural analysis and design software such as STAAD.Pro or equivalent.
• Experience in Offshore Construction, Structural Steel Fabrication, Mechanical Fabrication, and Piping will be highly advantageous.
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
• Good negotiation and coordination skills.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities.
• Able to work effectively with engineering, construction, fabrication, and installation teams.
• Detail-oriented with the ability to work under project schedules and deadlines.
