Working Location: Laem Chabang Industrial Estate, Chonburi
Working Hours: Monday–Friday 07:30–17:00 and Saturday 07:30–12:00 (5.5 days/week)

Job Purpose

We are seeking an experienced Production Engineer (Piping / Structural) to support construction and fabrication activities, with a focus on structural steel, piping, mechanical fabrication, and installation works.

The successful candidate will provide technical and engineering support to the shop floor, coordinate with multiple disciplines and subcontractors, monitor construction progress, and ensure fabrication and installation activities are executed in accordance with engineering requirements, project specifications, and approved procedures.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide technical and engineering support to the shop floor for structural steel fabrication, piping, mechanical fabrication, installation, and related construction activities.
  • Coordinate construction activities with other disciplines, including Piping, Mechanical, E&I, and QA/QC.
  • Coordinate material requirements and material issuance in accordance with the 6-week Look-Ahead Schedule.
  • Monitor, track, and report the progress of fabrication and construction activities.
  • Prepare detailed work procedures, method statements, and work sequences for various construction sub-activities.
  • Review and coordinate shop drawing discrepancies between the shop floor and Engineering Office.
  • Prepare Site Instructions (SIs) for design changes, work variations, and clarification of fabrication discrepancies.
  • Prepare Technical Queries (TQs) when technical discrepancies cannot be resolved at the shop-floor level.
  • Monitor and coordinate the activities of outsourced work package subcontractors.
  • Support planning and scheduling activities to ensure work is completed according to project requirements.

Structural Responsibilities

Construction Engineering – Steel

  • Provide technical advice on steel assembly procedures and fabrication methods.
  • Review structural steel shop drawings for fabrication and coordinate Technical Queries, Site Instructions, and client approvals where required.
  • Coordinate with Warehouse and Procurement teams regarding material availability, specifications, MWR (Material Withdrawal Request), MBPR, and MTO.
  • Monitor and report fabrication and construction progress.
  • Coordinate with other disciplines to resolve technical and construction-related issues.
  • Coordinate and monitor subcontractors performing structural steel fabrication work.

Load Out

  • Prepare and maintain Ship Lists for load-out activities.
  • Gather and compile MDR (Manufacturing Data Record) / final documentation required for installation activities.
  • Coordinate with relevant teams to ensure documentation is complete and available prior to load-out and installation.

Piping Responsibilities

  • Prepare Material BOQs (Bill of Quantities) for piping-related activities.
  • Coordinate with the Material Management Department regarding material transfer and availability.
  • Prepare detailed work procedures, method statements, and work sequences for piping fabrication and installation activities.
  • Coordinate shop drawing discrepancies between the shop floor and Piping / Discipline Engineers.
  • Prepare Technical Queries (TQs) when discrepancies cannot be resolved at the shop-floor level.
  • Prepare and maintain shop drawing reference documents, including P&IDs, Isometric Drawings, Isometric Indexes, and other relevant engineering references.
  • Support piping fabrication and installation activities by providing technical clarification and coordination as required.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Civil & Structural Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant direct experience in construction, fabrication, or production engineering.
  • Experience in Piping Systems, Steel Fabrication, Mechanical Fabrication, and/or Piping Installation.
  • Experience in Offshore Construction will be an advantage.
  • Good understanding of piping systems and engineering drawings.
  • Strong coordination and interpersonal skills with effective communication abilities.
  • Good negotiation and problem-solving skills.
  • Strong planning, scheduling, and organizational skills.
  • Able to work effectively with multiple disciplines, engineering teams, shop-floor personnel, and subcontractors.
  • Able to work in a fast-paced project environment and meet project schedules.
