Project Planner (Oil & Gas)

 Job Description:

Our client is an EPC of Oil and Gas business. 

Position: Project Planner

Employment Status: Contract 1.9 years

Location: Bangkok

Responsibilities:

  • Develop detailed project schedules for all phases of Oil & Gas fabrication projects, including engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation.
  • Work closely with project managers and department heads to allocate resources effectively, considering manpower, equipment, and materials required for each project phase.
  • Monitor and track project progress against established schedules, identify potential delays or issues, and propose corrective actions.
  • Conduct risk assessments and analysis of potential schedule impacts, providing mitigation strategies to ensure project timelines are maintained.
  • Prepare regular and ad-hoc progress reports, presenting key schedule metrics, milestones achieved, and upcoming deliverables to project stakeholders.
  • Facilitate communication between various project teams, ensuring that everyone is aligned with project schedules and understands their respective roles and responsibilities.
  • Assess the impact of changes to project scope or objectives on schedules, and update plans accordingly.
  • Ensure the accuracy and reliability of project schedules through regular audits and validation checks.
  • Collaborate with different departments, including engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation teams, to gather necessary information and ensure seamless integration of project schedules.
  • Evaluate and improve planning processes and tools, incorporating best practices to enhance overall project planning efficiency.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Project Management, or a related field. A Masters degree or relevant certifications (e.g., Project Management Professional - PMP) would be advantageous.
  • Minimum of 5 years of experience in project planning and scheduling, with a focus on Oil & Gas fabrication projects. Familiarity with industry standards and practices is essential.
  • Proficient in project management software tools, such as Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, or equivalent, to create and manage project schedules.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills to identify critical path activities, assess schedule impacts, and propose effective solutions.
  • Excellent communication skills to convey complex schedule information to diverse project stakeholders and facilitate collaboration.
  • Attention to detail is crucial to ensure the accuracy and reliability of project schedules.
  • Ability to adapt to changes in project scope, timelines, or resource availability, and effectively adjust schedules accordingly.
  • Ability to work collaboratively in a cross-functional team environment and foster positive working relationships.
  • Sound understanding of Oil & Gas fabrication processes, including engineering, procurement, fabrication, and installation activities.
  • Efficient time management skills to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines in a dynamic project environment.
