Business Consultant, Asphalt

 Job Description:

Responsibilities for this position may include, but are not limited to:

  • Responsible for hi-grading and expanding asphalt commercial business in TH and neighboring Indochina countries by soliciting new major accounts, target road contractors identified by department of highway
  • Develops and executes country market plans for the assigned market segment and territory in line with overall goals. This will require fully understanding the market environment, existing and prospective customer base, competitive activities within the territory, and country goals.
  • With a keen sense for capturing opportunities, the position needs to pursue customer solicitations, new business from existing customer base, new products and joint opportunities with cross-functional products such as Lubricants, Commercial and Industrial sales, supply departments, etc. This will require collaboration with other functional groups to fully realize value for the enterprise.
  • Knowledgeable about customer business, able to solve problems that are interfering with the delivery or purchase of a product or solution, proactively improves the after-sales process, maintains relationships with customers, and continuously follows up to ensure expectations and needs are being met. Communicating, understanding and appeasing the customer; being able to mediate and find compromises to achieve overall company goals.
  • Reviews Customer Profitability reports, understands key performance measures and takes corrective actions to ensure profitable growth
  • Identifies issues to reduce past dues and doubtful debts. Proactively develops and executes plans to achieve collection targets with a strong understanding of credit costs and exposure to total customer profitability. Strictly complies with cash flow processes and collaborates very closely with Treasury and credit groups in reviewing credit proposals and associated credit risks.
  • Engage with senior levels of customers and government agencies
  • Connect to markets to provide pricing calls
  • Work with the supply sourcing department to manage supply and demand forecasting and provide guidance to the asphalt sales team. Gather marketing intelligence and share it with the team and refinery to improve volume nomination accuracy.
  • Work with haulers to arrange product lifting for customers. Solve problems that are interfering with the delivery or purchase and ensure customer requirements are being met.
  • Proactively manage credit issues with a strong understanding of credit costs and exposure.
  • Executes Asphalt Operational Excellence tactical plans such as ensuring product integrity, customer fuel facility management, reliability in supply and invoicing, etc.


Job Qualifications: Knowledge, skills, and experience:

  • Bachelor Degree of Civil Engineering or related fields
  • 3-5 years job experiences in Asphalt sales
  • Be able to travel to upcountry half month
  • Familiarity with sales process
  • Positive attitude
  • Can accept challenging target
  • Strong customer relationship management
  • Proficient in MS office package
  • TOEIC of 700
