Position: System Engineer (Offshore Rotation)

Job responsibilities:
Key Objective
- Ensure the reliability of the Process Control System and Safety Instrument System at all times.
Safety
- Accountable for implementing and adhering to the HSSE Management System requirements.
- Ensure full reliability and availability of process control safeguards.
- Maintain a high level of safety awareness and standards in all daily duties on the platform.
- As Permit to Work Controller in the role of Competent Person, ensure proper use of tools and PPE, conduct regular site visits, advise co-workers on potential hazards, check safety equipment, notify management of unsafe working conditions, report HSE incidents, actively participate in HSE meetings and toolbox talks.
- Take effective action to control emergencies and contain hazards within the area of responsibility.
Process
- Monitor, maintain, and optimize reliability and equipment protection via the platform control systems.
- Provide planned and breakdown maintenance of the PLC (or DCS) systems.
- Support Platform Supervisor to control platform operations on start-up or in the event of a process upset to minimize the loss of production.
- Maintain computer and communication systems onboard which are under the companys license.
- Develop and maintain automatic updates of DPR, performance reports, DMF reports, production data acquisition, etc.
- Write or modify control programs and Cause & Effect, as necessary, in compliance with an approved Management of Change.
- Ensure all P&IDs, equipment layouts, SAFE charts, control functions, etc., are correct and in accordance with 14-C regulations. Redline drawings in case of electrical or process modifications.
- Ensure operatives, apprentices, and assistants under control carry out all works to required standards.
- Cooperate with Surface Facility Engineering team to develop preventive maintenance related to system control and ensure spares or materials lists are compiled in good time for work assigned.
- Cooperate with Surface Facility Engineering team to troubleshoot and/or repair defective equipment/systems.
- Complete all paperwork such as maintenance/diagnostic reports in a timely and accurate manner.
- Report to OIM on daily activities for work progress, machine condition, and status.
- Keep relevant documentation in the stations up to date and readily available for use.
- Ensure all identified problems and causes for concern are reported to OIM immediately and recorded.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a relevant field, showcasing a solid foundation in industry-specific knowledge.
- Over 10 years of hands-on experience in the oil and gas sector, with a preference for roles within operating companies.
- Proven track record of working effectively within multi-disciplinary teams, bringing diverse expertise together to achieve common goals.
- Strong ability to positively influence team dynamics while valuing and integrating diverse perspectives and opinions.
- Effective communication skills in English.
- Physically fit and prepared for offshore rotation work.
