Senior Procurement Engineer (Chemical)
Job Description:
Position: Senior Procurement Engineer
Type of Hiring: Permanent
Working: 5 Days/Week (Monday - Friday)
Location: Bangkok (Near BTS)
Starting Date: ASAP
An experienced Senior Procurement Engineer to support procurement activities for an explosives manufacturing facility. This role will oversee the full procurement cycle for equipment, materials, and technical packages required for operations within a highly regulated industrial environment. The ideal candidate will have strong experience in engineering procurement, supplier management, and compliance-driven sourcing.
Responsibilities:
- Lead end-to-end procurement activities for projects and operations within an explosives manufacturing environment
- Manage sourcing and purchasing of industrial equipment, mechanical systems, instrumentation, safety‑critical components, and specialized materials
- Conduct supplier qualification, RFQs, bid evaluations, commercial negotiations, and issuance of purchase orders
- Coordinate with engineering, operations, compliance, and project teams to ensure all procurement activities align with regulatory and safety requirements
- Ensure cost control, schedule adherence, and technical accuracy throughout the procurement process
- Support strategic sourcing initiatives and contribute to supplier performance improvement.
Qualifications:
- Bachelors degree in Chemical Engineering
- Minimum 5 years of procurement experience in industrial, chemical, explosives, petrochemical, or manufacturing environments
- Experience managing procurement for safety‑critical or heavily regulated industries
- Proven ability in supplier sourcing, bid evaluation, negotiation, and contract management
- Familiarity with regulatory compliance, quality standards, and documentation requirements for high‑risk industrial operations
- Strong commercial acumen with the ability to balance cost, quality, safety, and schedule
- Excellent communication, coordination, and stakeholder‑management skills
- Proficiency in procurement systems, ERP platforms, and Microsoft Office
- Good command of English (written and spoken) is an advantage
