Job Summary

Serves as the technical bridge between Subsurface and Production Operations, delivering specialized expertise in well intervention, workovers, and completion engineering. This role owns the end-to-end lifecycle of all well programs—from strategic planning and preparation to execution and post-operational analysis. Beyond execution, the position is responsible for safeguarding asset health through rigorous well integrity management and the continuous evolution of the Drilling Management System (DMS) to ensure industry-leading compliance.

Key Responsibilities

Well Completion Engineering

  • Design & Engineering Planning: Translate subsurface data into technical well-design concepts and detailed work plans, ensuring all designs maintain valid Well Barrier Schematics and rigorous risk assessments through the Management of Change (MOC) process.
  • Operational Execution & Support: Lead the integration of completion, testing, and commissioning activities by supporting the worksite team, monitoring real-time operations, and participating in critical project commencement sessions like CWOPs (Completion Well on Paper).
  • Financial & Resource Management: Manage the project lifecycle's logistics and finances by preparing cost estimates (AFEs), forecasting long-lead equipment requirements, and auditing vendor invoices and service quality.
  • Data Integrity & Continuous Improvement: Maintain comprehensive technical databases and well records, culminating in the final Well Completion Report (WCR) and the application of lessons learned from After-Action Reviews (AAR) to future projects.

Well Service and Integrity Management

  • Production Enhancement & Strategic Planning: Collaborate with Subsurface and Production teams to identify well intervention and workover opportunities, contributing technical expertise to Reservoir Management and Field Development Plans to maximize asset value.
  • Well Integrity & Compliance Management: Actively monitor field data to detect anomalies, manage the comprehensive well integrity program, and ensure all activities strictly adhere to corporate safety standards and regulatory compliance.
  • End-to-End Project Engineering: Lead the full lifecycle of intervention projects, including technical feasibility studies, risk assessments, cost estimation, Basis of Well Intervention (BOWI) preparation, and procurement/tender management.
  • Operational Execution & Resource Oversight: Supervise rig-less field operations and post-job reporting while managing inventory, logistics, and the adoption of new technologies to ensure timely and efficient program delivery.

Well/Project Specific Duties:

  • Engineering Design & Optimization: Provide end-to-end technical support for the drilling team by optimizing well planning, design, and costing, while identifying potential well hazards and specialized engineering studies to ensure operational excellence.
  • Technical Compliance & Documentation: Establish subsurface project requirements and material selections that comply with industry standards, and prepare project-specific technical notes to guide execution.
  • Procurement & Tender Management: Manage the full tender lifecycle by drafting detailed scopes of work, conducting methodical vendor capability assessments, and delivering succinct recommendations for contract awards.
  • Quality Assurance & Vendor Oversight: Partner with Quality Engineering to establish vendor quality plans and verify that all supplied materials, equipment, and operating procedures meet strict pre-installation testing and documentation standards.

HSE Support:

  • Support the preparation of HSE documents if/where required.
  • Contribute and participate in the hazard identification process.
  • Contribute and participate in well/project‐specific risk assessments and pre‐job planning meetings.
