Job Description – Accountant
Position: Accountant
Employment Type: Contract
Location: Project/Site Location, Thailand
Working Hours: 8:00 AM – 5:00 PM (Lunch: 12:00 PM – 1:00 PM)
Position Overview
Seeking an experienced Accountant to support day-to-day accounting and financial operations at a project/site environment.
The successful candidate will be responsible for Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), General Ledger (GL), reconciliations, petty cash, tax documentation, and month-end closing activities. The role requires a detail-oriented and accountable professional who can work effectively with site operations, procurement, finance teams, and external parties.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage daily Accounts Payable (AP), Accounts Receivable (AR), and General Ledger (GL) activities.
- Review and verify invoices, receipts, payment documents, and other supporting documentation for accuracy and completeness.
- Process vendor payments and customer receipts in accordance with company procedures and deadlines.
- Maintain accurate accounting records and ensure transactions are properly recorded in the accounting/ERP system.
- Manage petty cash and perform regular cash reconciliations.
- Perform bank reconciliations and reconcile assigned balance sheet and GL accounts.
- Prepare and maintain documentation relating to VAT, withholding tax, and other statutory requirements.
- Support monthly and year-end closing processes, including preparation of accounting schedules and supporting documents.
- Prepare basic financial reports, reconciliations, schedules, and other information required by management.
- Provide supporting documentation for internal and external audits.
- Ensure accounting activities comply with company policies, accounting standards, tax regulations, and applicable local requirements.
- Coordinate with operations, procurement, finance, and other cross-functional teams to resolve accounting issues and ensure smooth project operations.
- Perform other accounting and finance-related duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
- 2–5 years of relevant accounting experience, with practical experience in AP, AR, and GL.
- Good understanding of accounting principles and local tax regulations.
- Working knowledge of VAT and withholding tax requirements.
- Experience in payment processing, receipt processing, account reconciliations, and maintaining accounting records.
- Experience supporting month-end closing and preparing accounting reports/schedules.
- Hands-on experience with petty cash management and bank reconciliations.
- Proficient in Microsoft Excel and accounting/ERP systems.
- Experience with Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics 365, or similar ERP systems is preferred.
- Experience in a construction site, manufacturing plant, warehouse, or other operational/site environment is an advantage.
- Willingness to work on-site and travel to project locations when required.
