As we grow, were looking for an Assistant Estimator who shares these values to support our estimating team and grow within a company where people come first.

You'll work alongside experienced estimators, assisting in the preparation of accurate and competitive tenders. Whether you're quantifying materials, gathering supplier quotes, or helping build proposals, your role is crucial to ensuring the success of each project from the very start.

Your Day-to-Day

  • Assist with reviewing drawings and tender documentation
  • Help quantify brickwork materials and labour needs
  • Source and organise supplier and subcontractor quotes
  • Support the development of bid submissions and pricing schedules
  • Maintain and update cost databases and supplier files
  • Participate in site visits and pre-tender discussions
  • Provide general admin support to the estimating team

Essential Criteria

GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths and English (minimum); relevant A-levels or vocational qualifications preferred

Full UK driving license (useful for attending site visits or supplier meetings)

Demonstrated interest in construction or brickwork through education, work experience, or personal projects

Strong numerical skills with attention to detail for measuring and estimating tasks

Proficient in Microsoft Excel, Word, and general office applications

Clear verbal and written communication skills for liaising with suppliers, team members, and clients

Ability to manage time, prioritize tasks, and meet deadlines under guidance

Works well in a team environment, with a collaborative and respectful attitude

Desirable Criteria

Diploma or degree in Construction, Quantity Surveying, Estimating, or related discipline

Previous experience in a construction or estimating role, even at trainee or placement level

Ability to interpret architectural/technical drawings and basic specifications

Experience with software such as Bluebeam or similar tools

Familiarity with brickwork materials, construction methods, and basic costings

Basic knowledge of construction site safety and regulations
