- Data Infrastructure & Optimization: Manage and optimize AWS Redshift data warehouse operations, configure S3 data lakes, and implement advanced data partitioning, indexing, and compression strategies.
- Government Collaboration: Collaborate closely with the IPOS IT Department to support Infrastructure as Code (IaC) deployments, provide technical support for data-related issues, and optimize database queries.
- CI/CD & DevOps Integration: Develop and maintain automated CI/CD pipelines for data workflows using GitLab, configure AWS Lambda functions for processing automation, and ensure strict version control for data assets.
- Monitoring & Reliability: Set up comprehensive monitoring and alerting systems to proactively troubleshoot data pipeline failures and performance bottlenecks.
- Documentation & Reporting: Maintain detailed technical architectures, runbooks, and operational procedures on SHIP-HATS Confluence. Track engineering tasks via SHIP-HATS Jira and lead monthly system health progress meetings.
Key Requirements
- Experience: Proven strong background in Data Engineering, large-scale data pipeline development, and data warehouse design/optimization.
- Government/Public Sector Mindset: Strong conviction in the Government's mission. Understanding of public sector security/operational standards (familiarity with SHIP-HATS or IPOS is a significant advantage).
- Technical Expertise: Proficiency in SQL, Python, and shell scripting. Extensive hands-on experience with AWS data services (Redshift, S3, Glue, Lambda, CloudWatch).
- DevOps & Infrastructure Skills: Deep knowledge of CI/CD pipelines (GitLab preferred) and practical experience with Infrastructure as Code (Terraform, CloudFormation).
- Analytical & Troubleshooting Skills: Strong problem-solving mindset with the ability to understand data modeling, database design principles, and execute performance optimization.
- Personality: Hands-on, proactive, and adaptable. Excellent communication skills to articulate complex data architectures to both technical teams and cross-functional stakeholders.
