Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia to appoint RC Lead Drillers within the Drilling Department.

The lead driller works under the supervision of the Drilling Supervisor, managing all drilling operations including Lead all activities on the drill rig, including assembling drilling tools, connecting sections of drill pipe, and operating machinery.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Ensures the highest level of safety, health and environmental work standards are maintained.

Perform inspections, basic maintenance, and minor repairs on RC drill rigs, and escalate complex issues to immediate superior and maintenance teams.

Support rig operations, including rig-up/down, relocation, and logistics.

Conduct daily pre-shift, site, and mast inspections.

Monitor drilling performance and ensure accurate sample collection and hole alignment.

Troubleshoot downhole and basic mechanical issues.

Carry out fueling and preventative maintenance tasks.

Record equipment hours and performance data daily.

Maintain a safe work environment and comply with HSE requirements.

Perform other duties as assigned by immediate superior.

Supports the development and training of local nationals by providing mentorship, guidance, and coaching, leading to their growth and development.

QUALIFICATION:

Technical Diploma or High School with equivalent years of experience.

5+ years of experience in RC exploration drill rigs (Epiroc preferred).

Previous experience working on RC and/or DTH drilling rigs.

Basic knowledge of Drilling Operations and understanding of drilling processes and procedures.

Basic English communication skills (both oral and written).
