 Job Description:

Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia to appoint an Auto Electrician within the Mobile Maintenance Department.

This role is responsible for installing, maintaining, and repairing electrical systems in vehicles and mobile mining equipment to ensure safe, reliable, and efficient operations. 

The successful candidate will diagnose electrical faults, perform repairs, and support the operational readiness of fleet and heavy equipment.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

  1. Work observing OHS rules adopted by the Company in accordance with all country legislation, company policies, Standard Operating Procedures, safety warnings, memoranda, circulars, etc.
  2. Perform troubleshooting, repair, and preventive maintenance on CAT underground equipment including LHDs, loaders, and trucks.
  3. Diagnostic troubleshooting involves using laptop-based software like CAT ET and SIS diagnostic tools to find problems with hydraulic control systems, transmission controllers, and engine management systems.
  4. Work in compliance with AMAK OHS policies and Saudi Arabian safety legislation, including confined space and underground safety protocols.
  5. Collaborate with mechanical teams to ensure complete equipment functionality and minimize downtime.
  6. Maintain accurate maintenance logs, report incidents, and document repairs.
  7. Support commissioning and testing of new CAT UG equipment.
  8. Ensure spares and critical components are available and managed properly.
  9. Participate in continuous improvement initiatives to optimize equipment reliability and maintain fleet availability targets.
  10. Reading Schematics: The ability to interpret complex electrical and hydraulic circuit diagrams is fundamental.
  11. HVAC and air conditioning - ensuring climate control systems are in good working order.
  12. System maintenance which includes checking and fixing 12V and 24V electrical circuits, such as battery management, alternators, starter motors, and lighting systems.
  13. Installing and maintaining subterranean-specific technology, including collision avoidance systems, proximity detection systems, and remote-control interfaces for our semi-autonomous equipment.
  14. High-Voltage appreciation is an added advantage. While primarily focusing on DC systems, our underground drills utilize high-voltage AC trailing cables, requiring basic knowledge of electrical safety and isolation procedures.

AUTHORITY

  1. Approve minor repairs and adjustments to CAT UG electrical systems.
  2. Request spare parts and electrical components from stores.
  3. Recommend maintenance schedule adjustments based on equipment condition.
  4. THIS POSITION HAS NO MONETARY AUTHORITY.

REQUIRED KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS AND ABILITIES

  1. Auto-Electrical trade qualification (Electrician Certificate or equivalent).
  2. Proven experience on underground CAT equipment (LHDs, trucks, loaders).
  3. Knowledge of CAT electrical schematics, CAN bus systems, and diagnostic tools.
  4. Strong understanding of safety procedures in underground mining environments.
  5. Advanced computer skills for maintenance management systems and reporting.
  6. Ability to read and interpret technical manuals and electrical diagrams.
  7. Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and teamwork.
  8. Fluent in English; Arabic is an advantage.
  9. 3 years minimum post trade experience.
  10. Valid clean light vehicle driving license.
