Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company to hire an experienced Senior Exploration Geologist to lead and support exploration activities aimed at identifying and developing new mineral resources. This role is responsible for managing field exploration programs, interpreting geological data, and contributing to exploration strategy and resource growth.

Key Responsibilities

-Plan and supervise exploration activities, including geological mapping, sampling, trenching, and drilling programs
-Interpret geological, geochemical, and geophysical data to identify exploration targets
-Oversee drilling campaigns, including logging, sampling, and contractor coordination
-Prepare technical reports, exploration updates, and geological interpretations
-Support resource evaluation and contribute to resource development strategies
-Ensure accurate data collection, validation, and database management
-Monitor and implement QA/QC procedures across exploration activities
-Coordinate with resource geology, mine planning, and operations teams
-Provide technical guidance and mentorship to junior geologists and field staff
-Ensure all exploration activities are conducted safely and in compliance with HSE and regulatory standards

Requirements

-Bachelor’s degree in Geology, Geoscience, or a related field (Master’s degree is a plus)
-8–15 years of experience in mineral exploration and geological field operations
-Strong experience in drilling programs, geological mapping, and target generation
-Solid understanding of geological interpretation and resource evaluation
-Experience working on mining and exploration projects in remote or site-based environments
-Strong leadership and team management abilities
-Excellent analytical, communication, and reporting skills
-Proficiency in geological software and data management systems
