Virtucruit is partnering with a leading mining company in Saudi Arabia to appoint a UG Shift Boss within the Mining Department.

This role is responsible for supervising and coordinating underground shift operations, ensuring that development and long-hole stopping activities are executed safely, efficiently, and in line with production targets. 

The successful candidate will oversee underground crews, maintain compliance with safety and operational standards, and ensure effective shift coordination and reporting.

Key Responsibilities:

• Supervise underground mining crews across development and long-hole stoping activities during assigned shifts

• Ensure full compliance with safety procedures, ventilation requirements, and ground control standards

• Coordinate drilling, blasting, mucking, and ore handling to achieve planned shift targets

• Monitor dilution, ore recovery, and adherence to mine design and production plans

• Prepare accurate shift reports and communicate performance and operational issues to management

• Respond promptly to underground operational challenges and ensure continuity of production

• Promote strong safety culture and operational discipline within the team

• Work effectively with mechanised underground mining fleets

• Ensure safe execution of all underground mining activities during each shift

• Deliver development and production targets through effective supervision and coordination

• Maintain operational discipline through accurate reporting, quality control, and issue resolution

• Consistent achievement of shift production targets

• Strong compliance with safety standards and procedures

• Accurate and timely shift reporting

• Effective supervision of development and long-hole stoping crews

• Demonstrated control of dilution and overall mining quality

Education:

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Mining Engineering or equivalent

Certifications:

• Valid underground mining competency certifications

• Shift Supervisor certification preferred

Experience:

• Minimum 5 years of underground base metals mining experience

• Base metals underground mining (copper/zinc preferred)
• English proficiency required

Technical Expertise:

• Underground mine supervision

• Production reporting and interpretation of mine plans
