A fast-growing South African technology startup building a global talent and work-opportunity ecosystem. The platform connects job seekers, freelancers, and businesses through real-time matching, digital profiles, and integrated payment/wallet features. The engineering team is expanding to support rapid product scaling and new feature development.

As a Frontend Developer, you will be responsible for building modern, high-performance user interfaces that deliver a seamless experience across desktop and mobile. You will work closely with design, backend and product teams to develop intuitive, responsive, and scalable UI features.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:

A mid to senior Frontend Developer is required to help build and optimise modern, responsive user interfaces for a fast-growing technology startup in the global talent, work-matching, and digital payments ecosystem. The role involves developing high-quality frontend features, improving user experience, and collaborating with cross-functional teams in a fully remote environment.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- Strong proficiency with modern JavaScript (ES6+).

- Expertise in a modern frontend framework (React, Vue, Angular, etc.).

- Solid understanding of HTML5, CSS3, responsive design, and UI/UX best practices.

- Experience with RESTful or GraphQL API integration.

- Ability to build scalable, modular frontend architectures.

- Knowledge of performance optimisation, accessibility, and cross-browser compatibility.

- Familiarity with version control (Git) and Agile delivery.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Relevant tertiary qualification in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or equivalent experience.

- Certifications in modern web frameworks or frontend technologies (optional but beneficial).

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- 4+ years of professional frontend development experience.

- Demonstrated experience building production-level web applications.

- Experience working in remote or distributed teams.

- Proven experience collaborating with design, product and backend teams.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

- Experience with PWA, mobile web, or hybrid application development.

- Understanding of real-time UI updates, sockets, or event-driven UI.

- Experience in payment/wallet UI or data-rich dashboards.
