JOB OVERVIEW:

The Business Intelligence Lead is responsible for leading and driving the organisations data analytics and insights capability. This role focuses on transforming data into actionable insights that support strategic, operational, and commercial decision-making across the business.

DESCRIPTION OF POSITION:
The Business Intelligence Lead will work closely with business stakeholders to understand data and analytics requirements, design analytics solutions, and deliver insights that create measurable business value. The role requires hands-on analytics expertise combined with leadership, stakeholder engagement, and strategic thinking.

Key responsibilities include:

- Partnering with stakeholders to identify business needs and translate them into analytics solutions.

- Collecting, analysing, and interpreting complex datasets to provide actionable insights and recommendations.

- Applying advanced analytics techniques, including descriptive reporting, diagnostic dashboards, machine learning, and predictive modelling.

- Designing, developing, and maintaining dashboards and reports to support decision-making.

- Using design-thinking principles to develop analytics assets that are intuitive and business-friendly.

- Developing and maintaining documentation relating to data structures, models, and data flows.

- Staying current with emerging data analytics tools, technologies, and industry trends.

- Contributing to strategic planning initiatives related to data analytics and data management.

KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS:

- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to interpret complex data.

- Proficiency in data analysis and querying using tools such as SQL, Python, R, and/or SAS.

- Solid understanding of advanced analytics techniques, including machine learning and predictive modelling.

- Strong communication skills with the ability to present insights clearly to technical and non-technical stakeholders.

- Proven ability to collaborate across teams and work independently when required.

- Experience working within Agile and Scrum delivery environments.

QUALIFICATIONS REQUIRED:

- Relevant postgraduate qualification.

- Bachelors degree in Computer Science, Data Science, Engineering, or a related field

EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

- Minimum of 7 years experience in data analytics, business intelligence, or a related field.

- Hands-on experience developing dashboards, reports, and analytics solutions for business users.

- Demonstrated experience working with multiple stakeholders across different business functions.

ADVANTAGEOUS SKILLS:

- Experience with data visualisation tools such as Power BI and SAP Business Intelligence.

- Exposure to cloud platforms such as AWS or Microsoft Azure.

- Experience contributing to data strategy and enterprise analytics initiatives.
